Adam has been in Siren Cove for four days now and in those four days he's heard a lot of stories circulating around town about the current state of the Matriarch and the situation the sirens now find themselves in. For Adam, it works in his favour. His family has never belonged to any enclave, has never answered to any Matriarch and the problems going on now give him the opportunity to slip into town unnoticed.

It won't last, he's sure of that, but that doesn't mean he's not enjoying the chance to move into his new condo without worrying about how he's going to present himself.

Rather, he'd be enjoying himself if it didn't seem like the movers were going to drop ever second box. A year ago and Adam would have done it himself. A year ago he would have talked some friends into helping him, bugged his little brother until he agreed to drive the van, and they would have unloaded together. He would have bought beer and pizza -- or convinced someone to give him beer and pizza anyway -- and it would have been an experience, even if it hadn't been fun.

But now his brother is dead. Most of his friends don't call anymore. And Adam's scars prevent him from doing much of anything when it comes to moving boxes.

"Jesus Christ, I'm going to have a heart attack before this is over," he says loud enough for the movers to hear as they manhandle another box off the truck, nearly dropping it in the process. "Please don't kill all my things before they even make it inside."

[Adam's in front of his new condo, a lovely building near the beach. Dry run tags can be considered canon if you'd like, or if you want to start fresh, I'm okay with that, too. :D]

Davin has heard about the original myths, but he's never really seen any evidence of them. When Adam looks at him with those bright yellow eyes, for a split second Davin feels a little like prey. His own irises crackle an electric blue for a moment, and he leans in curiously.

"My family is very old too," he tells Adam, blinking and then sitting up straight. "My gran leads the Kavanagh coven out o' Ireland. Been 'round for ages."

Davin smiles warmly and gives him a nod. "I bet your gran was right."

"Aye, that makes sense t'me," Davin says with a nod. He doesn't have any experience actually being in a coven, despite being a high ranking member of one, because his parents here before he was even born. Part of him does wonder what it would be like, if it would be like having a big, supportive family, or if it would be like living in a fish bowl.

The movers come out and shoot Davin a look before grabbing the boxes on the porch and heading back inside. He laughs and then turns back to Adam before suddenly perking up. "Oh, I have a fox now. He's my familiar."

He's been telling pretty much everyone that he has a fox now. Not everyone gets to know what Edan really is, but everyone needs to know that he exists. Because he's awesome.

"They're pretty rare, from everythin' I've heard," Davin replies, obviously pleased. "But they run in my family. My gran's ia a big ol' cat. Smartest animal I've ever seen, I think. Edan's gonna be a little like that."

He looks over at Adam with a pleased smile. "You'll have t'meet him sometime."

"Why, are ya plannin' on fightin' over mice with him?" Davin retorts with a grin, watching Adam as he laughs. It doesn't seem like something that he does very often, but it looks good on his face. "Nah, I think you'll be alright. I think he's like me, a bit. Tends t'try an' see the best in people."

Too many things have happened to Davin to let him be as open and trusting as he used to be, but he does still try to see the good in everyone. He still tries to let people in, which he supposes is kind of a big deal, given what he's been through. He's just more cautious now, is all. And now he has Edan to help weed out the bad ones, once he's more mature and has developed his own powers.

"I'm still learnin' myself, but I think it's a little bit o' both, actually," Davin tells him thoughtfully. "He's just a baby, but he's already so in tune with me, an' we can communicate in a way. Not with words, obviously, but it's like he looks at me an' he just knows, an' vice versa."

Davin is obviously thrilled, practically vibrating with energy as he describes his bond with Edan. It's something so incredible, and he can't deny that it makes him incredibly happy. "He's meant t'protect me, an' he'll eventually be able t'feed off o' my magic, I think."

"Well, I'm no expert myself, really," Davin says with a shrug. "My parents kept me away from magic, an' my history. They hate it."

A soft sigh escapes him and he shakes his head, giving Adam a smile. "But I've got contact with my gran now, an' she knows pretty much everythin'. I'm learnin' all the time. If ya have any questions, feel free t' ask me."

His smile goes a little teasing and he reaches out to lightly tap the tip of Adam's nose with his finger. "An' maybe someday you'll let me see your beak."
